About Us

The school was originally named Symonds Stage School, established in 1979 by Teena Symonds.

In 1988 it was purchased by a group of people associated with the school at the time, and who continued to run the school under the same name. It has developed considerably over these years and expanded greatly, boasting an exemplary 100% exam pass rate and increasing to over 100 pupils.

In early 2005, the school was sold to a former pupil, Phillipa Witcher, and the name changed as a tribute to her grandmother, the author Pamela Winfield MBE. The high standard and successful techniques established by previous owners has been maintained, and some new classes introduced.

In 2007, the school was taken over by Miss Heidi Rhodes, who has been running the extremely successful Heidi Rhodes School of Dance nearby for many years.
